Meet the Team

Solihull BID is operated by a team of three employees who are responsible for delivering the Business Plan and between them manage around 65 different BID projects each year. There is also a team of five Town Hosts and a stakeholder Board comprising 13 representatives from the each of the sectors represented in the BID community as well as Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and West Midlands Police.

The office team is led by Shirley Sturzaker, Director of Solihull BID. Shirley has considerable experience in the delivery of successful BID’s having been involved in several prior to joining Solihull BID in 2010.

She is supported by Melanie Palmer who coordinates communication with BID businesses and marketing projects and Carolyn Pearce, the BID’s Project Coordinator who manages all office, online and digital media.

Town Hosts

Solihull BID employs three Town Hosts who  are managed by Town Host Manager John Timms.

They work seven days a week :

  • Monday to Saturday – 08.30 – 18.00
  • Sunday – 09.00 – 17.00

Town Hosts are here to welcome, guide and advise visitors, residents and businesses. They provide a radio link to the CCTV centre and retail and Pub watch schemes. Each Host has their own PDA to allow them to record and monitor all of the activities that they carry out on behalf of the businesses in Solihull.
