It’s been a busy few months!

In October 2011 Solihull BID launched the first-ever Dining Week at the start of October which saw thousands of people visiting restaurants, bars, food and drinks  shops and coffee houses in the town to sample a myriad of tastes and flavours from across the world.

And hot on the heels of Dining Week came two fashion events at the LG Arena, designed to highlight Solihull’s fashion brands to 30,000 Rihanna fans. Retailers that took part were Serene Order (who dressed Kelly Rowland for the 2011 X Factor), Top Shop and Top Man, Aspire, Swarovski, Fabulous, Office, Swank, House of Fraser brands including Desigual and Label Lab, Two Seasons, Parkinsons, Zara, River Island and Steven Charles Quance. Make up was by Chanel and YSL at House of Fraser and hair was by Simon Paul Hair & Beauty.

Dining Week will be back in 2012 as part of a whole host of events in, what promises to be, a very special year. With the Olympics and Diamond Jubilee creating a festival atmosphere, Solihull will proudly welcome the Olympic torch visit to the town and celebrate the Jubilee weekend with a host of events including our first ever Jazz and Blues festival.

We also intend to launch a major Dance Festival next year. Both events designed to bring visitors flooding in and boost the town’s profile. Keep in touch with plans for the Dance Festival on our So! Dance! Facebook page and the Jazz and Blues Festival can be found on Facebook too.
