Marketing, Promotion and Events

That’s So Solihull is a series of campaigns and events designed to reinforce the awareness of Solihull as the premium shopping and leisure destination (outside of major city areas) with the region.

Activity in the last six months has included a high quality Pink Purse direct mail highlighting the quality and range of shopping and food and drink opportunities in the town. The Pink Purse has reached over 1.5 million homes to date through distribution in the Mail on Sunday and Sunday Times, a door drop to our primary and secondary retail footprints, media coverage and a unique partnership with the Solihull Race for Life.

Solihull Dining Week 2011

In October we held our first-ever Solihull Dining Week attracting thousands of people into the restaurants, cafes and bars in the town. You can see footage of the event here.

We have also created partnerships with the NEC, the LG Arena and the Airport to promote Solihull as a destination for work and play to visitors. Recently the BID took Solihull’s youth fashion brands to the LG Arena to showcase the Autumn/Winter 2011 collections to 30,000 Rihanna fans. You can see footage of the fashion show here.

We have active Facebook and Twitter pages for Thats So Solihull as well as pages for Solihull BID businesses and work hard to ensure Solihull features regularly in the local and regional media.

 

Christmas Campaign 2011


Our
Christmas campaign in 2011 has reached out to 1.5 million households across the wider region through media advertising, a radio campaign with Heart FM, press coverage, billboards at The NEC, door drops and an insert within the Mail on Sunday You magazine.

We have also taken over responsibility for  www.visitsolihull.co.uk, the official tourism website for the Solihull Borough, featuring accommodation, events, retail and attractions in the local area.
