The Safe and Secure projects are designed to ensure Solihull maintains its reputation as an attractive place to visit and will provide businesses with a more secure environment in which to trade.

SRCI (Solihull Retail Crime Initiative)
John Timms works as the SRCI Co-ordinator within Solihull. This is a police led proactive retail crime initiative that operates in Solihull Town Centre between the police, retailers and Solihull MBC and is directed at reducing the level of criminal activity within Solihull Town Centre.
The objectives of the operation are as follows:
- The prevention and detection of crime.
- The apprehension and prosecution of offenders or suspected offenders.
- To cause a decrease in retail crime losses for participants in the scheme.
- To reduce the opportunity to commit crime.
- To enhance the ‘safe and secure’ concept for customers who visit and staff who work in Solihull.
- To work in partnership with the Local Authority, retailers and other agencies involved in the operation.
