Boston Tea Party have become the first chain café in the UK, and possibly the World, to completely ban single use disposable coffee cups.

They have teamed up with the lovely folk at Ecoffee Cup to produce a wide range of colourful reusable cups which you can buy or loan from their café in Herbert Road.

And now they want to get Solihull companies involved by offering businesses in the Solihull BID area the chance of purchasing the reusable bamboo Ecoffee Cups at a reduced price of £3.75 + VAT per cup!

They’re also offering all cup recipients a free coffee along with plenty of social media love to say thank you for making the change. They may even be able to throw in a few slices of cake too…

If you and your staff want to help make a change, please drop them an email: hello@bostonteaparty.co.uk

Why?

Only 1 in 400 of the estimated 2.5 billion plastic coated coffee cups used in the UK each year are recycled. Approximately 500,000 are littered every day. The rest go to landfill. Many compostable alternatives also end up in landfill as there aren’t enough accessible facilities in the UK to compost them.

Simply, the only truly ethical solution is to stop issuing single use cups, so Boston Tea Party are asking our customers to bring a reusable cup for their takeaway drinks.

What if I don’ t have a cup?

Boston Tea Party have teamed up with the lovely folk at Ecoffee Cup to offer you a couple of options:

Buy – They’re selling reusable cups in a variety of sizes and designs at a subsidised rate.
Loan – If you’ve forgotten your own, you can borrow one from them using their refundable loan scheme.

What about the money you're saving from not giving out cups?

Boston Tea Party are donating 10p (the rough cost of a single use cup and lid) to KITES, a school and social club for 14-25 year olds in the Solihull area.
