Key development opportunities within Solihull Town Centre have been showcased at international property conference MIPIM, within the Midlands UK Pavilion.
Part of the wider UK Central Solihull growth and development plans, Solihull Town Centre’s masterplan identifies the potential for up to 1,400 new homes, over 70,000 sq m of new office space and 11,000 sq m of commercial and leisure space.
The ambitious plans outline how Solihull Council will lead on driving development and delivering infrastructure to build upon the town’s strong levels of occupier demand and low retail vacancy rates. This is supported by a strong workforce and exceptional connectivity, which has attracted leading international companies including BNP Paribas, RWE nPower and Tesla to the area
Bringing forward the first phases of development, interest is sought for a new landmark office scheme at a key gateway location, near to Solihull Train Station and the town’s commercial centre, with potential to develop up to 13,000 sq m of Grade A office space.
Future development opportunities include ‘Solihull Living’ – a range of prime residential and mixed use opportunities at the heart of the retail core of the town.
Feasibility work is also being undertaken for further development in relation to Solihull train station, supporting projected rail passenger growth to three million passengers per annum by 2043 and related commercial opportunities.
