Touchwood’s iconic polar bear, Presley, has returned to centre this festive season but this year he’s keeping extra warm thanks to pupils from Robin Hood Academy Primary School.
Ten imaginative local pupils from the local school took on a challenge set by Touchwood to crochet a colourful and cuddly hat and scarf for Presley. The team of pupils, aged 9-11, came together to each crochet a series of vibrant patches, which were then sewn together to create Presley’s dream scarf and hat.
The wonderful creations are now taking pride of place on the iconic polar bear himself, located at Touchwood’s enchanting grotto in the Atrium. Presley has become immensely popular with guests from around the region, all looking to have their festive family photo taken with the cuddly creature.
Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, comments: “Presley has sat at the heart of our Christmas celebrations for the past couple of years and we thought it would be fun for local school children to learn a new skill whilst getting into the seasonal spirit. The pupils at Robin Hood Academy have done a spectacular job and really showcased not only their hard work but their creative skills – they should be very proud of themselves. We’re sure you’ll agree that Presely looks incredibly stylish!”
All the pupils that participated each received an early Christmas present from Touchwood to say thank you for their hard work and dedication.
