This summer, Solihull-based shopping centre Mell Square is set to liven up the summer holidays with the return of Mini Mells, a free weekly kids club between 28th July and 18th August.

Launching on Saturday 28th July, Mini Mells is partnering with a number of local sporting clubs to host weekly activities for children. The first Saturday will see a visit from Solihull Mayor, Mrs Flo Nash, as well as a giveaway of 50 goodie bags and an exclusive competition to win a family hamper, featuring prizes from Mell Square retailers including Zebra Kids, Aspire Style and Everyman Barbers.

Every Saturday, the sporting groups will host two 40-minute activity sessions at 10:30am and 12pm. Children will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of different sports, from basketball to dance, meaning there are plenty of interesting sessions to get involved and have fun with.

Rob Hemus, asset director at IM Properties, owners of Mell Square said: “We are really excited to be continuing Mini Mells this year. We want to encourage kids to stay active over the summer holidays, so partnering with these local businesses is a fantastic way to bring families into the town centre, whilst support the whole community. It also provides the Mell Square retailers with an excellent opportunity to be involved.

“Each local club has so much to offer, its guaranteed to be a high energy experience. We can’t wait to kick-start our activities this summer and we look forward to seeing you all there.”

The scheduled weekly activities are:

28th July – Virgin Active, Multi-Circuits

4th August – Aspire Sports, Athletics

11th August – The Bugs Group, Dance and Football

18th August – Leapfrog Sports, Basketball
